Today I was given information about how beneficial mindfulness is, and how students are changed in only positive ways when mindfulness practices are brought into the classroom. While hearing the stats and coming to a clearer understanding of mindfulness, I could only think about how we already know these things as they are taught in many religions. Two verses came to mind:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV bible.com/111/php.4…

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV bible.com/111/1th.5…

So for those asking for prayer to return to schools. There is a movement. The benefits that a moment of silence or a morning prayer brought to your schools days have found a new, dare I say, more sophisticated form.
